The Congress on Tuesday backed the Mamata Banerjee-led TMC's protest outside Parliament on the black money issue, saying every political party has a right to protest and express its views.
"Naturally, they are protesting against the government, they have some issues with the BJP in West Bengal. Every party has a right to express its views and protest," Congress leader Shakeel Ahmed told ANI here.
Slamming the government for failing to bring back black money stashed in safe havens abroad, the TMC MPs staged a protest against the Centre on the issue today.
The Samajwadi Party and the Janata Dal (United) also participated in the TMC's protest as a show of solidarity among the opposition parties on the black money issue.
Meanwhile, the Lok Sabha has been adjourned till noon following uproarious scenes on the black money issue by members of the opposition parties.
As soon as the Lok Sabha met for business today, the members from TMC, RJD, Congress, Telangana Rashtra Samiti and Samajwadi party raised the issue demanding the suspension of Question Hour and discussion on the issue.
