The Congress on Tuesday defended veteran party leader Mani Shankar Aiyar over the controversy on his alleged remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in an interview to a Pakistani news channel.
Congress leader Tom Vadakkan urged the people to not 'fall prey' to Bharatiya Janata Party's false propaganda.
"I have just received a report from my party saying the Mani Shankar Aiyar has flatly denied having said anything of that sort. He has sent us a link to establish beyond doubt that he has said no such thing," he told ANI.

"If the propaganda machinery of the Bharatiya Janata Party is working overtime, I beg to differ. People of India can go to these links and establish what Mani Shankar Aiyar has actually said and not fall prey to BJP's propaganda machinery," he added.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today slammed Aiyar for his comments, terming it as 'absolutely appalling'.
Aiyar who went to Pakistan before the Bihar Assembly polls, allegedly said in an interview to a Pakistani channel, that Islamabad should help India in defeating Prime Minister Modi .
