The Congress Party on Saturday said ordering a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe of killing of a 15year-old Dalit in Gohana, Haryana, was not sufficient and demanded an investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

"There should be a CBI inquiry of this case because of the direct involvement of police officials. I don't think the SIT probe is sufficient enough for this case," Congress leader Kumari Selja told reporters after meeting family members of the victim.

"The chief minister is saying that it is a case of suicide and he has received this information unofficially. What does he mean by unofficial there? What were the reports on the ground of which he was saying it is a case of suicide?" she added.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had claimed the 15-year-old Dalit boy who had committed suicide.

Today, the Haryana Government ordered a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe of the incident.

A three-member committee, including a DSP-level officer from Rohtak and two inspectors will probe the case.
