Union Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar on Wednesday alleged that the Congress Party has destroyed the nation's system, adding that it's vice-president Rahul Gandhi does not have anything left to argue and that's why making senseless allegations.

"I think Rahul Gandhi does not have anything left to argue and that's why he makes senseless allegations. Rahul Gandhi has destroyed the institute. The Congress had destroyed the democracy in 1975. Who destroyed the nation's system? It is the Congress. Rahul Gandhi rubbished the initiatives done by the government. Is it about taking care of the institution? This is about destroying the institution," Javadekar told ANI.

Asserting that earlier the poor used to be with the Congress, Javadekar said now they are supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP and the government's demonetisation move.

"Sunil Dutt was enrolled in the CWG by the government and suddenly the name changes from 10, Janpath and Suresh Kalmadi's name was announced. This is destroying the institution. From where did letters come in 2g and coal scam? No minutes were written as to who was allocated coal and how? Jayanti Nataraj wrote a letter and accused Rahul Gandhi about how few works were stopped despite being legal and few works were permitted despite being illegal," he added.

Gandhi, who earlier in the day led the Congress Working Committee's meeting at New Delhi's Talkatora Stadium in the absence of party president Sonia Gandhi, said that the Prime Minister in last two years destroyed the institutions that were built over many years.

"Modi ji has done in 2 years, what we haven't done in 60. He has destroyed the institutions that were built over many years. The RBI (Reserve Bank of India) for example. The RSS and the BJP have ruined the RBI and has led to its ridicule. Notes ban was a personal decision of Modi ji that was forced down the RBI," Rahul said.

"His demonetisation decision has been the worst decision of India's history. Never before has a Prime Minister taken such an incompetent and badly thought out decision. I assure you there will be acche din (good times) when the Congress returns to power in 2019," he added.
