Meanwhile, another Congress leader Mukul Vasnik said that an intention to form a different political party was announced without even giving a resignation letter.

Earlier today, Vasan quit the quit the Congress citing conflict of interests and floated a new party.

B.S. Gnanadesikan, a loyalist of Vasan, had earlier last week tendered his resignation as the Tamil Nadu Congress chief, accusing the leadership in Delhi of failing to consult the state branch on important issues.
