The Congress on Monday linked the rising number of deaths associated with the Vyapam scam to the BJP Government at the Centre and in Madhya Pradesh, calling for a CBI inquiry to ensure a fair investigation into the case.
"Over 40 people died so far in the Vyapam Scam. A CBI intervention in the issue is necessary so that we get to know who the people behind it are. First they played with the future of thousands of kids and now the witnesses are dying. It seems that from the Prime Minister to RSS leaders, everyone is linked with the case and the Madhya Pradesh Government is trying to escape," said Congress leader Shobha Oza.
As per reports, 42 people, including the accused and the witnesses in this case, have died.
The Vyapam Scam involved the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board, which holds exams for positions like medical officers, constables, teachers and auditors for government departments. Candidates allegedly bribed government officials to ensure that they made it to the list of those who cleared the test.
