Congress MP Priya Dutt on Wednesday said that her party's focus is to rescue all the people, who are facing dreadful situation due to the natural calamity in Uttarakhand.

Dutt, who conducted a meeting with the Congress leaders in Bhopal, discussed the steps that need to be taken to set up a communication centre in the city for those affected by the floods and landslides in the hill state.

" To save people, whose lives are at risk there, is our priority, there is no politics from Congress side," she told the media.

Meanwhile, a group of religious scholars organised special meet in Gujarat's Ahmedabad city where they prayed for the souls of those who lost their lives.

" Wherever those restless souls (victims of flood) are, we are praying for them," said Ram Prasad Sharma, a priest.

Close to 100,000 people have so far been evacuated, but some 6,000 still remain stranded even as the personnel of the Indian army, Indian Air Force, ITBP and NDRF have intensified the rescue and relief operations in Uttarakhand.
