The All India Majlis Ittehadul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) party on Friday slammed the Congress Government in Karnataka for denying Asaduddin Owaisi the right to hold a public meeting, and said that the party was 'drunk with arrogance'.
"The Congress Party in Karnataka is drunk in arrogance. From February 2015 to August 2015 whenever I have asked for a permission to hold a public meeting every time a lame excuse is given by the congress government that I can't do a public meeting because the law and order is not good,"said All India Majlis Ittehadul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi.
Owaisi accused the state government of not being able to handle the law and order situation in the state, saying the party has no control over the law and order situation.
"What is the Congress Government doing, it shows that they are very weak, they have no control over law and order, they feel that the law and order can get disturbed because of one man's entry," said Owaisi, talking to the media.
The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) elections are slated to take place soon and Owaisi slammed both the ruling Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party for betraying the people of Bengaluru saying, despite huge budget allocations for solid waste management, less than 20 percent of the garbage is picked from the streets of Bengaluru.
"Despite BBMP having budget 5020 crores, out of which nearly they spent 488.3 crores were given for solid waste management but not even 20 percent of the garbage is picked from the streets of Bengaluru, we would like to where this money has gone," said Owaisi.
"65 percent of the roads in the capital cannot be called roads, unfortunately, the civic amenities which should have been provided by the ruling party Congress or previously BJP they have failed miserably," he added.
Owaisi urged people vote in large number in the BBMP elections saying Bengaluru's growth is very important for nation's growth.
