Congress Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Gowda on Monday released a report card of the work done by Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government in past four years and also a book on Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao titled 'The Betrayer of Telangana'.

Addressing the media, Gowda said that the biggest tragedy is how Rao has failed to provide jobs, better education and health facility to the people of the state.

"As of 2017, the unemployment rate is estimated to be 7.7 percent, which is third highest in the country. The TRS government has filled only 25,000 posts. Only 10 percent of the total vacancies were filled in the past four years of Rao's government," Gowda said.

"As promised, free education from kindergarten to postgraduation has not been implemented, moreover, they also reduced the education budget by Rs.478 crores," Gowda said.

He further alleged that the Telangana government released only Rs. 2,693.55 crore for the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) while alleging that 50 percent of the total budget for education schemes has not been released yet.

Gowda also alleged that only Rs.10.11 crore (12 percent) was spent on "free essential drugs initiatives" under National Health Mission (NHM) for reproductive and child health when Rs. 84 crore was allocated for the same.

The Congress leader further said that the Chief Minister promised super-speciality hospitals in every district and a 100 bed-room hospital in every assembly constituency but never fulfilled it.

"The TRS government does not respect people's money and this is evident by the Comptroller and Auditor General's (CAG) remark. The CAG has stated that the government has not provided utilisation certificates for the funds used. The borrowings will weigh heavy on the state with over 28,000 crore being due to be repaid in the next seven years," Gowda said.
