Taking potshots at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the light of the recent allegations made by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal that the saffron party was trying to bribe his party MLAs in order to form the next government in Delhi, the Congress on Monday said that this is an attack on democracy.
"The Congress condemns the attempts by the BJP to bribe leaders of other political parties. This is an attack on democracy," said Congress General Secretary Ajay Maken.
Maken further said the Supreme Court should take cognizance of this matter, and added that his party will not let the BJP form government in Delhi by horse-trading.
Referring to the sting video that the AAP has allegedly made, Maken said the BJP's real face has been exposed before the nation.
"In the video, in the course of bribing the AAP MLA, the BJP MLA Sher Singh Dagar is seen talking to someone senior to him on the phone. We want to know who that person in the high command is," he said.
Congress leader Shakeel Ahmad commenting on the controversy alleged that the BJP has been trying this tactic for the past two or three months.

"What is new in this? Previously, only we used to know this side of the BJP but now the people of Delhi have also come to know about it," he said.
Kejriwal earlier in the day claimed to have in his possession a recorded footage of BJP MLA Sher Singh Dagar, who was trying to bribe the AAP MLAs.
