The Congress Party on Wednesday said that how can the NDA Government go on with NSA-level talks with a Pakistan, whose envoy has invited separatist leaders who don't have faith in India's Constitution.
Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala launched a scathing attack on the Modi government and questioned its policy towards countering terrorism.
Surjewala said, "Just before the NSA level talks, they are inviting separatists who do not have faith in India's Constitution. Is this the Kashmir policy that the Modi Government has? What is Modi government's policy on tackling terror? How do they propose through these talks to effectively ensure that the export of terrorism and the belligerent stance of Pakistan will change? These are real questions that Modi ji needs to answer to the nation."
Pakistan has invited Kashmiri separatists for a talk with NSA Sartaj Aziz on August 23 in New Delhi. India had earlier cancelled foreign secretary-level talks in August last year after the Pakistan high commissioner in New Delhi held consultations with Kashmiri separatists.
Questioning the Prime Minister's policy towards curbing terrorism, Surjewala said that the Modi government is incapable of fighting terrorism.
"Pakistan is belligerent and is exporting terror on a daily basis into India. We want to ask the Prime Minister what is your policy on Pakistan. The Modi government is incapable of fighting terrorism and taking on Pakistan," Surjewala told ANI.
