Launching a frontal attack on the Congress Party, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Vice President Balbir Punj on Sunday said that the ruling party at the centre which has become synonymous with inflation and massive corruption needs to be thrown out.
"Congress which has become synonymous with inflation, massive corruption and inefficiency needs to be thrown out of this country," Punj said.
"Narendra Modi has only reiterated, what the whole country experiences today. There is rampage corruption and massive inflation under UPA 2," Punj said when asked about Gujarat Chief Minister's address to the Indian Diaspora through a live video conference on Saturday, in which he challenged UPA leaders to submit a performance report on nine-years of rule.
"The life of common man has become very hard. The rule of UPA since last 10 years has been very troublesome for people," Punj added.
BJP's prime ministerial candidate Modi has also hoped that the 2014 general elections, like in 1977, would reflect the voice of the people of India.
"This government, which has downgraded the country, has to go. Let us affirm that this Government has to go democratically. We should work for a progressive BJP government," he said.

However, Congress leader Digvijay Singh criticised Modi over his criticism of the UPA government.
"Good to hear Modi talking about inclusive politics. But can a leopard change its spots?, Singh tweeted.
Reacting to Modi's claim that the growth rate was 8.4 per cent when NDA was in power but came down to 4.8 per cent during UPA's rule, he tweeted, "FEKU MODI at his best. Giving fake figures of growth during NDA regime."
He also challenged Modi to debate with any Congress leader on the issues of governance and development.
"UPA giving its report card every year on every issue. Would Modi pl get his team to look at the UPA Govt website instead of abusing ?," Singh he said
"The list can go on. Would Modi have courage to debate with one of us on issues of Governance Development and other National Issues?," he added.
He further tweeted that UPA had fulfilled all the promises that it made to the people.
"Empowered people by giving Rights on Information, Education,Food Security to Women Tribals and to Work," he tweeted.
Singh further took a dig at Modi and said that the BJP prime ministerial candidate only knows how to empower himself.
"Congress empowers YOU// Modi empowers HIMSELF ! Choice is your's !," he tweeted.
"Modi wants CONGRESS MUKT BHARAT AND WE WANT BHOOK MUKT BHARAT ! He backs PRIVILEGED Congress backs UNDERPRIVILEGED. Choice is yours!," he tweeted.
