The Congress Party on Friday hit back at Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh over his remark that the term 'Hindu terrorism' was coined by the previous UPA regime, saying the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the Centre is the established spectacular lodestar of communal politics.
"Rajnath SIngh Ji, your party is the established spectacular lodestar of communal politics. Please stop misleading Indians and India. #jumla," Congress spokesperson Sanjay Jha said in a tweet.
Making a statement in the Lok Sabha earlier on the Gurdaspur terrorist attack, Rajnath asked all the political parties to present a united front to the world against terrorism.
Hitting out the Congress, the Home Minister said the term 'Hindu terrorism' coined by the previous UPA government had weakened the fight against the scourge by diverting the direction of probe into the incidents of terrorism.
Asserting that the government will do everything possible to prevent cross border terrorism, he said any effort by the enemies to undermine India's territorial integrity and security or imperil the safety and security of our citizens will meet an effective and forceful response from the security forces.
