Sony's controversial comedy movie The Interview has finally opened online and in some independent U.S. cinemas on Christmas Day, after a cyber attack and threats to moviegoers over the movie's release release.
Sony Pictures had earlier pulled the film, about a fictional plot to kill North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, due to threats and a cyber attack, reported BBC.
The company reconsidered the movie's release after critics and U.S. President Barack Obama said that freedom of expression was under threat.
More than 200 cinemas in the U.S. are screening the controversial comedy. However, larger cinemas decided not to screen the film following threats.
Microsoft's Xbox Video platform and Google services YouTube and Play are also offering the movie but only in the U.S.
