Assuring action against the culprits who attacked the Holy Child Auxilium School, Delhi Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi on Friday said he had apprised Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the situation.
"I apprised Prime Minister of the situation regarding the attack on a school in Delhi. In addition to school theft, the Prime Minister also expressed his deep concern over incident of church vandalism that happened recently," said Bassi, who was summoned by the Prime Minister in connection with the sixth such attack on a Christian institution in the city.
The Police Commissioner said that his force was taking the case with seriousness and would soon book the culprits.
"Around Rs. 8000 has been stolen from donation boxes of school. We are taking this case with utter seriousness; we will soon book the culprit. An effective security arrangement will be soon put in place for protection of churches in Delhi," he added.
Bassi further said that his force had increased security around the churches in Delhi while the SIT was investigating the earlier instance of a fire breakout in a church in the national capital.
Union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani also visited the school earlier today. She met with the faculty and reviewed the overall situation arising out of the incident with them as well as with the area police officers.
