The countdown for the launch of PSLV-C33 to place India's seventh and final navigation satellite IRNSS-1G in the orbit began at Andhra Pradesh's Sriharikota island this morning.

The 54-hour countdown for the launch of four-stage ISRO work horse Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) began at 9.20 a.m. today at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre. The launch is scheduled for Thursday.

Till date, ISRO has launched six regional navigational satellites (IRNSS-1A, 1B, 1C, ID, 1E and 1F) as part of a constellation of seven satellites to provide accurate position information service to users across the country and the region.

IRNSS-1F was launched on the ISRO's trusted PSLV C32 on March 10.

During the countdown, propellant filling operations would be taken up in the four-stage vehicle.
