Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday said the court's decision to acquit Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president and former Gujarat home minister Amit Shah in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case must be respected.
"It's good that the court has given him a clean chit, we must respect the court's decision. Everyone should have waited for the court's decision before saying wrong things," said Rijiju.
In a major relief to BJP president Amit Shah, a special CBI court in Mumbai earlier in the day acquitted him in the 2005 Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case.
The CBI had charged Shah, the then Minister of State for Home in Gujarat, as an accused in the killing of gangster Sohrabuddin Sheikh and Tulsiram Prajapati.
