Hours after Liverpool came out with a statement confirming that Philippe Coutinho will not be sold this summer and will remain a Liverpool player when the window closes, the Brazilian mid-fielder has submitted a transfer request.
As per goal.com, Coutinho directly communicated this desire to the Merseysiders via email on Friday.
Earlier, shattering the hopes of Barcelona, a statement on Liverpool's website said, "The club's definitive stance is that no offers for Coutinho will be considered and he will remain a member of Liverpool Football Club when the summer window closes."
As reported by the Independent, Liverpool Manager Norbert Klopp said that there is no price-limit to let him (Coutinho) go.
The manager said, "Liverpool is not a club that has to sell players. That is set in stone. So what they pay in the end doesn't matter."
Barcelona offered £72 million for the player in its first bid, which was rejected. Liverpool stood firm in its stance and also rejected the second bid of £90.4 million. The confirmation issued now will shut down further attempts from Barcelona.

Coutinho, was signed by Liverpool for £8.5 million in January 2013 and signed a five-year deal which did not include buy-out clause.
The 25-year-old star of Liverpool notched 14 goals for the team in last term. The lead scorer of the team helped the Reds to finish fourth in the Premier league.
Coutinho will not be available for the trip to Watford due to a back problem, which will also make him a doubt for the first leg of the Champions League play-off against Hoffenheim on Tuesday.
