The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) and the Communist Party of India (CPI) have put the onus for frequent and prolonged disruptions in the Parliament on the ruling Congress party and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have witnessed repeated disruptions leading to adjournments during the current monsoon session of the Parliament.
The Communist leaders voiced their ire against both the Congress party and the BJP for giving least importance to discussions of national interest and in the interest of the masses.
CPI-M leader Sitaram Yechury said both these two parties were working together to raise or discuss issues convenient to them.
"There was an all party meeting today and on behalf of the Left, we have taken a very strong position saying that unless the House meets and functions, these sort of meetings are meaningless and we come and discuss many things but the House is not functioning. Our impression is very clear that this is a 'Noora Kushti' as they call it in Hindi which is match fixing as we call in English between the BJP and the Congress," said Yechury.
BJP had confirmed that it would cooperate in the smooth functioning of the upcoming monsoon session of the parliament.

In the background of this, Yechury observed that since the Parliament worked according to the wishes of the ruling party and the main opposition, at least they should co-operate and ensure no disruptions are caused.
"That is why we are telling the government and the Congress that the ruling party and the main opposition should get together and decide how to run the Parliament because according to what we have seen in the last one week. The Parliament functions when both the parties want it to. When one of the two does not want it to run, the Parliament does not function," he added.
The BJP had said they would discuss important issues of national concern in the monsoon session of the Parliament which would continue till August 30.
The issues ranging from government's failure in handling the situation in flood-hit Uttarakhand state and formation of separate state, increasing price of petrol and diesel, critical economy of the country to various incidents of Chinese incursion and attack on the Indian consulate in Afghanistan, are said to be among the main topics of discussion.
Another senior leader of Communist Party of India (CPI) Gurudas Dasgupta said that important discussions pertinent to the people were being ignored.
"As the Left we feel to much alarming that the Parliament is not functioning; we are not being able to raise the economic crisis. Onions are being sold at Rs. 80 per kilogram. It is beyond the reach of the people, all the consumer goods," he said.
Leaders of the left front demanded that the ruling government and the opposition party allow the monsoon session of the Parliament to be functional and productive not only for the passing of clearance of highways and constructions but also to issues concerning the common man across the country with the recent drop in the economy.
