The main opposition party of Nepal, Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist-Leninist,(CPN-UML) on Thursday asked all of its lawmakers to sign the impeachment motion against suspended Chief Commissioner of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Lok Man Singh Karki.
The importance and meaning of the impeachment motion was highlighted by the party during its parliamentary meeting.
According to party chief whip Bhanubhakta Dhakal, all the party lawmakers have been asked to be present in the House meeting on October 23.
Lawmaker Pemba Lama has said that the top leaders of the party have urged the MPs to stand firm for the motion, reports the Himalyan Times.
The motion was signed by 107 lawmakers of the CPN-UML on Wednesday against CIAA Chief Karki.
The party has strength of 182 lawmakers and is second largest in the House.
The meeting was chaired by KP Sharma Oli and was attended by senior leaders Jhala Nath Khanal and Madhav Kumar Nepal among others.
