Real Madrid player Cristiano Ronaldo has insisted that he is not obsessed with winning the Ballon d'Or award but refused to admit that he will not go to attend the FIFA function.

According to Metro.co.uk, speculation hinted the Real Madrid man may miss January's presentation of the trophy after falling out with Fifa president Sepp Blatter.

Ronaldo has added fuel to the fire by refusing to dismiss the rumours, instead suggesting he is not concerned with winning the award, the report said.

He added that he prefers not to say anything because things did not depend solely on him and he will see what happens.

Barcelona's Lionel Messi has won the Ballon d'Or for the past four years, but Ronaldo is the hot favourite this time around, with his adversary currently sidelined through injury, the report added.

Ronaldo also boosted his claim for the trophy on Tuesday night, when his stunning hat trick helped Portugal past Sweden to qualify for next summer's World Cup, according to the report.
