A model famous for a second place in Brazil's popular Miss Bumbum-competition, who claimed in April 2013 that the football star Cristiano Ronaldo cheated on his girlfriend Irina Shayk with her, has been hospitalized after a botched cosmetic surgery.
The model Andressa Urach, who suffered an infection after an op to remove a gel doctors injected her with to increase the size of her thighs, is in a "serious condition" in a hospital in the southern city of Porto Alegre, the Daily Star reported.
The 27-year-old model is said to have had twice the recommended amount of the jelly-like material hydrogel, which is allowed in Brazil in small doses to increase the size of women's thighs and buttocks, injected into her legs.
Urach's mum Marisete De Favari took it to her Facebook account to say that she is certain because of her faith in God that her daughter is going to be cured and she thanked all of the fans from her heart.
She further asked fans to pray for her daughter today after her condition worsened following a second operation to drain the rest of the gel.
Medics said the model, currently working as a TV presenter in her homeland, is being sedated and breathing through a ventilator.
