A reputed British newspaper has taken out a list of the world's ten deadliest golf courses, five of which are present in the United States of America (USA).

According to The Independent, on top of the list comes the Harbour Town Golf Links in South Carolina, US, where a crocodile was found in middle of the course during the RBC Heritage Tournament in 2012.

Next on the list is the Camp Bonifas, South Korea, which is fringed on three sides by landmines left over from the Korean War beyond the astroturf, followed by the Pyongyang Golf Course in North Korea, third on the list, where allegedly the country's late leader Kim Jong-Il played 38 under par, including 11 holes-in-one.

The fourth deadliest golf course in the world is the Prison View Golf Course, which is present inside Louisiana's only maximum security prison, the Louisiana State Penitentiary, USA, while the Furnace Creek golf course in California is fifth on the list as its home, Death Valley, is the world's hottest spot.

Uummannaq Golf Course, Greenland comes in the sixth place as it sees temperatures as low as minus fifty, and graphite clubs are banned because they can shatter in the cold, while the Merapi Golf Club in Indonesia, in the seventh place, is located on the slopes of Indonesia's most active volcano, which claimed 122 lives during an eruption in 2010.

Eight on the list is the Lost City Golf Course in Sun City, South Africa, which has an unique water hazard- Nile crocodiles, while the Skukuza Golf Course in the Kruger National Park, South Africa is placed in the ninth position as it has no fences protecting it from the dangerous wildlife nearby.

The most unlikely course is the Kingsboro Golf Club in New York, the last and tenth on the list, where a 16-year-old golfer was killed in 1994 after a shaft from a golf club, which he had thrown at a bench in frustration, bounced back and pierced his heart, killing him.
