New Cricket South Africa (CSA) chief executive Haroon Lorgat has said that former CEO Gerald Majola has the right to appeal against the court judgement against him.
According to Sport24, a court had ruled against Majola in his bid to be reinstated as chief executive of CSA.
Although Lorgat believed that Majola has the right to appeal against the judgement, he however, said that he will have to appeal to the same court first, adding that the sports body would not be concerned even if Majola decides to pursue the matter further.
According to a CSA statement, Majola had unsuccessfully sought an order for declaratory relief against the decision of the South African sports ministry to appoint the Nicholson Committee of Enquiry.
The statement further said that the former CEO had also sought to dismiss the CSA disciplinary proceedings, which came from the recommendations of the enquiry.
