Cricket South Africa (CSA) has proposed a Test between South Africa and Zimbabwe before Australia tour.

Australia visit South Africa for three Tests and three T20s, starting with the first Test in Centurion on February 12.

CSA wants the Proteas to get enough game-time before the Aussies, who are fresh off a 5-0 Ashes walloping of England, arrive.

However, whether the Test is played or not depends on the situation between Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) and its players, who are on strike because they have not been paid, the ESPNcricinfo website reports.

This move could be an attempt from CSA to gain Zimbabwe's support when the draft proposal for a revamp of the ICC's administrative structure comes to vote at the Executive Board's quarterly meeting in Dubai on January 28 and 29.

The draft proposal is reported to give the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), Cricket Australia (CA) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) the majority say in the decision-making of the sport, Sport24 reports.
