Cricket South Africa (CSA) has said that it will host a 'transformation indaba' in Johannesburg this weekend to ensure that the game can be sustainable.

This will be CSA's first transformation indaba, or transformation conference, since 2002 and is expected to be attended by about 150 delegates.

According to Sport24, CSA president Chris Nenzani stated that the theme behind the indaba will be 'Transformation: Time to the do the right thing', adding that they have always believed in doing the right thing, with transformation being a strategic imperative.

The reports mentioned that topics to be covered in the indaba includes governance, appointment of staff, professional cricket, amateur cricket, transformation legacy, selection of teams and appointment of officials.

Stating that CSA owed it to South Africans to create a level playing field in the sport, Nenzani also said that in the past they might have been too compliant on policies without achieving real transformation, adding that the time has arrived for that to change.

Meanwhile, CSA chief executive Haroon Lorgat said that the appointment of former cricketer Max Jordaan as CSA's transformation manager has been one of his first tasks, adding that Jordaan would be responsible for keeping CSA operationally effective and accountable for delivering the transformation goals to be discussed at the indaba.

However, Lorgat added that unless everyone involved in cricket got their hearts into it, transformation would remain an academic game.
