Curfew and restrictions continued for the 22nd consecutive day across the Kashmir valley today following protests over the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Muzaffar Wani.

Security forces have blocked all the roads as the resistance camp extended their shutdown call till July 31.

The security forces blocked all the main roads for maintaining law and order across the valley.

The Supreme Court yesterday declined to entertain a plea seeking Governor's rule in Jammu and Kashmir under the provision of JK constitution, due to the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.

The petition was filed by the J-K National Panthers Party (NPP) last week, seeking Governor N.N. Vohra's intervention under section 92 of JK constitution in the interest of security, safety and fundamental rights of the Indian citizens residing in the Valley.

The petition had also contended that the J&K Governor should be directed to dissolve the assembly of the state, which has failed to discharge its duties and functions.
