Tension continues to prevail in seven districts of the Jammu region of the state of Jammu and Kashmir, and on Wednesday, curfew was still in force for the sixth day.
There were, however, periodic relaxation of curfew on Tuesday.
Media reports quoted Basheer Ahmad Khan, the District Magistrate of Kishtwar, as saying that a constant review of the situation is being made on the ground. He also was quoted as saying that no further incidents of violence have been reported.
In Jammu, curfew was relaxed on Tuesday after three days for three hours from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Periodic relaxing of curfew was also reported from Kathua, Samba, Reasi, Rajouri, Udhampur and Doda.
So far, eleven persons have been placed under arrest for allegedly inciting communal passions in Kishtwar.
A further 120 people have also been arrested from other parts of the Jammu region for their role in the incitement of communal hatred.
