Florida's Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge recently posted a series of pictures showing a giant otter devouring an alligator on their Facebook page.
The photos, which were taken in 2011, showed the hapless Florida alligator been killed and eaten by the carnivorous mammal, Stuff.co.nz reported.
The post was accompanied by a comment from the wildlife refuge said that the otter pulled the alligator up on the bank and proceeded to consume, which eventually gave up and was eaten.
The post said that the animals were no longer visible at that point, but the alligator was done resisting when it was dragged out of the water and despite of otter's cute appearance, the mammals are the apex predator of many freshwater habitats.
