Communist Party of India (CPI) leader D Raja on Monday said it is a good sign that the cooperation between India and China has been increasing in different fields.

When asked to comment on the upcoming visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to India, Raja said: "It is a good sign that the cooperation between India and China has been increasing in different fields such as economic cooperation, trade cooperation and cultural exchanges. This is in the good interest of both India and China."

"Both India and China are neighbouring countries and they must develop such cooperation in every given opportunity," he added.

Chinese President Xi Jinping is scheduled to visit New Delhi on September 17 during which he will hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other top Indian leaders. The Chinese President will be accompanied by two members of the politburo of the ruling Communist Party of China.

India is expecting that the Chinese President's visit will also bring Chinese investments and business opportunities.
