Australian all-rounder Dan Christian has said that he believes he has put the turmoil of last season behind him after being recalled to the Australian one-day team.

Christian had been a regular in the South Australian side since 2007, but fell out of favour towards the end of the 2012-13 season after a string of warnings relating to dressing-room damage culminated in a one-match Sheffield Shield suspension.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Christian's return to the Australian one-day and T20 squads as cover for rested all-rounder Shane Watson is a reward for his good form for the Brisbane Heat, with three wickets complementing his 186 runs at an average of 46.5 with two unbeaten half-centuries.

Despite having played 17 ODI and 11 T20 matches for Australia, Christian was unable to re-establish himself as a regular after the ban, and requested a release from the final year of his contract, although he insisted that the reports of destruction 'blown out of all proportion'.

Stating that his move to seek greener pastures has been great in hindsight, Christian said that he has put behind his bad time and is now looking forward on the cricket road, after getting lucky following the departure of fellow all-rounder Andrew McDonald from Victoria to South Australia.
