Banned Pakistani leg-spinner Danish Kaneria has reportedly submitted an amount of 28,000 pounds to a commercial high court in London to get an appeal hearing for his life ban on April 11.

Kaneria was told by the commercial court last month that he would have to deposit the security money if he wanted his appeal against his life ban to be heard on April 11th.

According to The Nation, a source said that despite being in dire financial straits, Kaneria managed to raise the amount with the help of his relatives, friends and colleagues as the hearing is his last chance of being cleared and having the ban removed.

The source further said that the appeal hearing would be now held on schedule.

The report mentioned that Kaneria was given a life ban in mid-2012 by the disciplinary committee of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) for allegedly encouraging his teammates at county side Essex to indulge in spot-fixing.

His initial appeal against the life ban was dismissed by an appeals panel of the ECB last year after which the leg spinner decided to approach the commercial bench in the high court, the report added.
