South Africa's A B De Villiers on Sunday brutally took apart the bowling of Proteas teammate Dale Steyn to help Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by four wickets in an exciting Indian Premier League clash.

De Villiers was at his absolute best. With RCB needing 28 runs off just 12 balls and Dale Steyn steaming in, all looked lost. But De Villiers turned the game on its head with some unbelievable hitting, taking 24 off the penultimate over, including three sixes. Such was his dominance that Steyn even gave him a round of applause at the end of the over

However, it took a further five balls of the final over to seal the victory for RCB. Hyderabad certainly looked favourites for the match until De Villiers's intervention, reports news.com.au.

RCB were set a victory target of 156, and got their with just a ball to spare.

Earlier, Australian opener David Warner's 61 and Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan's 37 helped Sunrisers Hyderabad reach a total of 155 for the loss of six wickets. For RCB, Australian left-arm fast bowler Mitchell Starc and India's Varun Aaron claimed two wickets each.

De Villiers said that it was his lucky day, while his skipper Virat Kohli described him as the best player in the world.
