The Australian women's cricket team debutants Holly Ferling and Erin Osborne have reportedly put their side into a strong position with their bowling in the second day of the women's Ashes Test at Wormsley.
According to News.com.au, teenaged pacer Ferling gave a major shock to England's batting line-up by collecting 2-16 off her first four overs, including the treasured wicket of England captain Charlotte Edwards, while off-spinner Osborne ended the day with 3-31 off 16 overs.
The report further said that the Southern Stars made a surprise declaration just prior to lunch at 6-331, which turned into a masterstroke by captain Jodie Fields, as England were 6-172 at stumps.
According to the report, Edwards was unhappy with the decision making her LBW out with the fourth ball of Ferling's fourth over given that she had just made a measly score of three runs.
However, England openers Heather Knight (85 from 225 balls) and Laura Marsh (13 from 114 balls) managed to keep England in the match with their 59-run partnership.
The pair will resume on day three with England needing a further ten runs to avoid the follow on, the report added.
