BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur has said the board is yet to make a decision about the next coach of the Indian cricket team, amidst heavy speculation that former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly is being considered.
"It will be worth waiting and whatever will be decided will be in the interest of the Indian cricket. Give us some time on that", he said after attending the IPL governing council meeting.
Thakur who was expected to meet president Jagmohan Dalmiya in the afternoon, said that an announcement on the support staff will be made soon.
"We have already picked the team for the Bangladesh tour and as far as coach and support staff is concerned, we would soon make the announcement," he said.
He also praised IPL chairman Rajiv Shukla for conducting a "controversy free" of IPL season eight.
"It has been a great tournament and a successful season of the IPL. A lot of efforts have gone into it . All the franchises have worked really hard and the chairman himself had been working day and night along with other members."

Speaking of reports of a few IPL matches being under scanner, he said, "There have been rumours and speculations in the media. There was only one report which was reported before the season when a player was approached by a bookie and he immediately went to the anti-corruption cell."
It is being speculated in the media that Ganguly could become either chairman of an advisory panel, a team director or the chief coach of the national team.
