Former media adviser to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Deepak Sandhu, was today appointed as the Chief Information Commissioner.
She was administered the oath of office by President Pranab Mukherjee at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Sandhu, a 1971-batch Indian Information Service officer, has replaced Satyanand Mishra.
She earlier served as the Principal Director General (Media and Communications) in the Press Information Bureau.
