Prateik Babbar, the son of late Bollywood actress Smita Patil, has recently said that Deepika Padukone would be the best one to play her mother if a biopic was ever made on her.
According to a Pinkvilla report, the 28-year-old actor spoke candidly about the idea of making a biopic on his mother and said, "Yes of course, she (Smita) was the youngest actress to be in the panel of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. She has done amazing work and her personal as well as professional life is truly inspiring."
He added, "Deepika Padukone is apt for the role. She has looks like Smita Patil, those eyes, the features are similar, her forehead, the poise, the demeanor."
Smita died from childbirth complications on December 13, 1986, barely two weeks after having given birth to her son Prateik.
The actor, who made his Bollywood debut with 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na', also expressed his desire to be a part of the biopic on his mother.
Prateik and Deepika have earlier shared screen space in the 2011 released 'Aarakshan'. The Prakash Jha directorial, however, failed to do wonders at the box office.
