Former Italian international and World Cup player Alessandro Del Piero, who arrived here on Thursday, said that he is excited to play for Delhi Dynamos in the Indian Super League.
Del Piero, who is considered one of the superstars of Italian football and has 91 caps with the Azzuris, is one of the main star attractions at the Indian Super League.
"This is new for me, alright. But I am excited and I'll try to do my best for the league and for the Dynamos first of all and all the soccer, football fans in India," he said.
39-year-old Del Piero said that he is looking forward to train with the players and coaching staff of his Delhi Dynamos team.
"I am happy to be here and would want to start soon training and meet my team mates and the coach and the staff and everyone in the club. I think it will be a great time with us," Del Piero added.
The ISL was launched in Mumbai, on August 28, by Nita Ambani in the presence of cricket and Bollywood stars.

A total of 49 foreign players were drafted during the session for the eight-franchise league, which is slated to run from October 12 to December 20. Seven players have been directly recruited by the teams.
Though the ISL has managed to attract some big-names, opinion remains divided if it can help lift the standard of football in the country.
