Following reports of two gang-rape case in New Delhi, social activist Pramila Nesargi on Saturday termed the national capital as a "gang-rape city".
"I would rather call it a gang rape city. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that he would save women, but he is saving the rapist. He is encouraging the rapist and that is the reason all these things are happening," Nesargi told ANI here.
"Whether it is two and a half years' old child or one and half years' old child, these people think that girl children are like vegetables and they can be cut and used at any point of time. It's high time that strict action should be taken and the administration should be held accountable for such incidents," she added.
A week after rape and torture of a four-year-old girl in Delhi, two more cases of minor girls being gangraped have been reported from the national capital. Both the girls have suffered severe injuries and are recovering in hospitals.
In one of the cases, a five-year-old was allegedly raped by three men in east Delhi's Anand Vihar area. The girl was reportedly alone at home when one of the accused, her neighbour, took her to his house and allegedly raped her, along with his friends. All the three accused in this case have been arrested.
In another case, a two-and-a-half-year-old girl was allegedly raped by two men, who abducted her on a motorbike from outside her house in west Delhi's Nangloi area on Friday. The accused are still at large.
