The Delhi Government has initiated the process of preparation of Regular Budget for the year 2014 which will be placed before the Parliament for approval before the period of vote on account lapses.
Meanwhile, the departments under the Delhi Government have utilized plan funds of Rs.294 crore in the month of April as against the approved outlay of Rs.16000 crore for the Annual Plan 2014-15.
During the corresponding period of last year, an amount of Rs.158 crore was utilized by the departments of the government. The Public Works Department (PWD) has spent Rs.191 crore on various capital projects under Education Sector, Health and Road and Bridges etc.
According to Planning Department, the revenue generating departments have collected an amount of Rs.1401 crore in the month of April, which is 4.4 percent of the total Tax Revenue target of Rs.31571 crore to be collected during the current financial year.
The collection under VAT is Rs.940 crore followed by Rs.228 crore under Stamps and Registration Fees, and Rs.116 crore under State Excise.
The Transport Department has collected Rs.93 crore in lieu of registration of new vehicles in Delhi.
