A day after an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) woman worker allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison in North Delhi's Narela area, the Delhi Government on Wednesday ordered a magisterial probe into the incident.
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia directed the North Delhi district magistrate to investigate into the matter. "Have ordered magistrate inquiry in AAP activist suicide case in Narela. DM north will do the inquiry (sic)," tweeted Sisodia.
Family members of the woman claimed that she had gone into depression after her alleged molester, a party colleague, was released on bail.
The Delhi Police said the woman had filed a complaint against party colleague Ramesh Wadhwa for allegedly touching her inappropriately and a case of molestation was registered in June and the accused was arrested.
Meanwhile, Delhi BJP had alleged that AAP leaders had ignored her harassment complaint.
Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay said the incident established anti-woman character of AAP.
