The Delhi High Court will today hear the plea seeking a rollback of action taken by the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) administration against Kanhaiya Kumar, Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya.
The university administration, on the basis of a report by a High Level Enquiry Committee, had rusticated and slapped fines on Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya among others.
The students had sought directions against the decision of Appellate Authority of JNU with regard to rustication and fines imposed on them.
Umar Khalid, Anirban Bhattacharya and Kanhaiya Kumar are being prosecuted by the Delhi Police for allegedly raising anti-India slogans on the JNU campus at a meeting organised on February 9 this year in memory of perpetrator of 2001 Indian Parliament attack Afzal Guru.
