Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on Monday said Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung would explore all options of forming a new government in Delhi before making any recommendation to centre for imposition of President's rule.

He told reporters in New Delhi, that the home ministry presently does not have a role in developments taking place locally in the national capital.

With the December 8 results projecting a hung assembly in Delhi, and neither party-BJP or AAP ready to come forward to form the next government, Jung is expected to call the single largest party-the BJP (31 seats),along with its partner Akali Dal (one seat) --, to form a new government.

If the BJP declines the offer, Jung might ask the second largest party - the Aam Admi Party which bagged 28 seats-whether it is in a position to form the government.

Jung is expected to talk to the leaders of the two parties separately to assess their interest in forming the next government in the state.
