Delhi Police Special Cell has arrested a Hizb-ul Mujahideen operative Ansar ul Haq on Tuesday for his role in the death of Sub-Inspector Imtiaz Ahmad Mir, whose body was found in Pulwama on October 28.
Addressing the media here, Pramod Khushwaha, Deputy Commissioner of Police (special cell) said, "The arrested person is from Pulwama. Haq had involved his girlfriend in Mir's murder. His girlfriend knew the police officer."
Ansar ul Haq was arrested from Terminal 3 of the Delhi airport.
Giving further details about Haq, Khushwaha added, "He is well educated and holds a Masters degree in literature. He also runs a business of apples. The girl is also educated and is an administrative services aspirant."
Mir's body was found in the orchards in Chewa-Kalan by locals.
