Delhi polls: BJP releases vision document

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday released its vision document for the upcoming Delhi assembly polls, promising to make Delhi a world class city and to resolve pending problems of water, electricity and transport.

"The vision document will help make Delhi a world class city by all standards. This documents covers over 270 points, will focus on the following urgent matters- women safety,security, youth affairs, electricity and water, cleanliness, education and skill development and environment," said the party's chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi.

She also promised hundred percent transparency, unimpeachable integrity, police accountability, maximum measurability, fiscal prudence and zero tolerance to corruption.

The former IPS officer said online and mobile technologies will be used to the fullest and there will be constant monitoring of government projects and their progress.

In keeping with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's monthly radio address 'Mann Ki Baat', Bedi said she would also address the people of Delhi through 'Dil Ki Baat'.

"Not just the Chief Minister, cabinet Ministers / MLAs can also address over radio- Dil Ki Baat," said Bedi.

She also said it was her party's priority is to deliver justice and bring to book the perpetrators of the 1984 riots.

The BJP had earlier announced that it would come up with a 'vision document' for the Delhi polls instead of a manifesto.

Its rival Aam Aadmi Party recently came up with a 70-point manifesto, unleashing a slew of promises including passing of the Jan Lokpal Bill, enhanced security for women and full statehood for the national capital.

Elections for the 70-seat assembly in Delhi will take place on February 7, with the counting of the votes set for February 10.
