A three-day conclave, themed "Reviving Growth
Emerging economies are powering the momentum of global investment despite the slowdown witnessed in the last few years. This is evident in the fact that in 2012, these developing economies contributed more towards global growth than the developed countries.
Trade within the emerging countries is also growing steadily, reshaping international investment flows. Clearly, this bloc forms a potent factor in the global business landscape that no corporate or political strategy can afford to under-estimate.
Reflecting on these aspects, the second edition of The Growth Net series will be held in New Delhi from March 23-25, 2014. The three-day conclave, themed "Reviving Growth: Reversing the Tide," will feature nearly 60 speakers from 17 countries discussing global economic imperatives.
The key issues expected to be raised in the meeting include energy and water challenges; common global priorities; innovations and new technologies; education and healthcare; and foreign investment opportunities.
Highlighting the relevance of the summit, Kiran Pasricha, Executive Director and CEO of Ananta Centre says, "The intention behind The Growth Net series is to create new business linkages among these economies while providing a platform for decision-makers to share insights on the prevailing global trends. Through the meeting, we strive to generate specific actionable outcomes with multi-stakeholder consensus. It is not merely a platform for dialogue, but a forum for action."
Among the international luminaries converging for the meeting are Stanley M Bergman, Chairman of the Board and CEO, Henry Schein Inc. (US); Bundit Limschoon, Secretary General, Asia Cooperation Dialogue (Thailand); Ronnie Chan, Chairman, Hang Lung Properties (Hong Kong); Herbert Oberhaensli, Vice President-Economic and International Relations, Nestle (Switzerland); Dilma Pema, President and Director General, SABESP (Brazil); Joseph Klafter, President, Tel Aviv University (Israel); and Jorge Lopez Morton, Executive Director, Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade (Mexico).
