The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly given a warm farewell to coach Dav Whatmore and fielding coach Julien Fountain, with both reaching the end of their two years contracted tenure at the end of Pakistan's series against Sri Lanka in the UAE.

The entire hierarchy of the cricket board including PCB chairman Mohammad Zaka Ashraf, Chief Operations Officer (COO) Subhan Ahmed, director-general Javed Miandad, director Zakir Khan and other officials was present on the occasion

According to The Nation, lauding the duo's contribution to Pakistani cricket, Ashraf said that despite there being no home series owing to circumstances beyond the PCB's control, the performance of the team, as well as their temperament and mental strength, mostly reflected an upward curve, due to the efforts of Whatmore and Fountain.

Whatmore said that the team presented him with the perfect parting gift by beating Sri Lanka in what was one of the most spectacular Test victories ever, adding that the win was a high point in his coaching career and he is happy to be leaving on a victorious note.

The outgoing coach also said that he had a great time in Pakistan and hoped to return here in one capacity or another soon, while Fountain also thanked the PCB and its management for a 'fulfilling' assignment.
