Despite the ongoing unrest in the Valley in which several schools have been gutted down, the examinations of class tenth and twelfth students will be carried out in its scheduled time in Jammu and Kashmir.
Professor Zahoor Ahmad, Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education said, "Normally we conduct theses exams in the month of October but due to the present unrest students were not prepared as they have not completed their syllabus. So we decided to postpone the exams till mid of November and now all the exams including tenth and twelfth standard will be started from 14th and 15th of November 2016 and we are going to give maximum relaxation in syllabus."
Due to the change in climate, they have also decided to change the timings of the exams so that the students can reach their homes at a proper time.
Students have been demanding the postponing of their exams, as the unrest in the Valley has taken a toll on the education sector, with school being burnt down in scores.
