James Robertson, who got a car as a surprise gift and donations of 350,000 dollars after walking 21 mile commute to and from work for 10 years, has been moved to a safer home by cops for security reasons.

According to Detroit Free Press, the 56-year-old from Detroit was moved to a safer place after he began telling friends that he was worried about his safety around roommates and neighbors.

2nd Deputy Chief June West said that people were actually asking Robertson for money.

Police said that Robertson took this decision after hearing news that Detroit police had arrested a man charged in the killing of an 86-year-old Detroiter who disappeared in December, three days after the elderly man was said to have won 20,000 dollars in a lottery game.

After the move, Robertson said, he wanted to get it over with and there were so many factors involved about potential risks to his safety and need to safeguard his new car.
