Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday in principle approved Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai's (MCGM) proposal for 'Green wheels along blue lines' cycle track.
Fadnavis stated that this cycle track will be built by clearing all encroachments along water pipelines in Mumbai, which will open 10 meter-wide corridors on both sides.
The route will be the shortest to connect between North-South and East-West Mumbai. It will have 40 entry and exit points that will connect 19 railway, seven Metro, four Monorail stations.
It will also cover the Bollywood walk, bio-diversity corridor and Mumbai books routes.
This project is estimated to cost Rs. 300 crore and is expected to be rolled out in 18 months.
